Fire crews have worked to clean away “lewd markings” painted alongside a public memorial to the young Melbourne woman raped and murdered last week.
Eurydice Dixon, 22, was found dead in a Carlton North soccer field, which has since been turned into makeshift memorial to the aspiring comedian.
According to the Herald Sun:
“Fire crews used water and brooms to remove the offensive material, reportedly 25 metres in size, which appeared to be deliberately painted next to the floral memorial at the park.
“Park workers covered the remainder of the site with a white material to hide what was unable to be cleaned away.”
Locals say the vandalism as sickening.
“It’s just disgraceful. We live in a world of sick people,” resident Sue Murray told the paper.
“There’s only one place to put these people. If they catch them, lock them up.”
