SA Senator Nick Xenophon says the revelation bidders for the $30 billion Future Frigates project won’t have to use SA workers is a “disaster”.
“This really is an act of bastardy,” Mr Xenophon said. “There’s a secret plan to cut out Australian shipbuilders form this frigate project.”
“This is a disaster for Australian shipbuilding and especially South Australia.”
According to The Advertiser, a confidential tender document for the project shows foreign bidders have the all clear to use whatever workforce they see fit.
