The Farmhouse Bakery at Holden Hill has been charged with 37 breaches after it was allegedly found infested with cockroaches during a food inspection last September.

According to adelaidenow.com.au:

A list of offences seen by Eastern Courier Messenger shows the council allegedly found baked cakes which were stored in a prover infested with cockroaches.

The council will take Paul Anthony Mencel of Farmhouse Bakery to court on May 30 over 37 breaches.

Bakery staff were also found to lack adequate skills in, and knowledge of, proper food safety and food hygiene practices.

Inspectors also found baked goods next to a fridge door with broken glass while several items were also found to exhibit food waste or “other visible matter”.
