Australia’s fruit sabotage scandal appears to be widening after a Sydney mum found a needle inside an apple.
The needle was found inside a pink lady apple purchased from a Woolworths at The Ponds in Sydney’s north west.
The woman was peeling the apple for her kids when she discovered the object.
She told 7 News:
“I just thought, wow, this can’t possibly happening — not in apples.
“I’ve seen the news about strawberries and I’ve been vigilant with cutting those up for the girls, but to see this in an apple?
“I thought these were safe. My kids just grab them and bite into apples normally.”
