German company Sonnen has announced plans to build a battery production plant in Adelaide that will create 430 jobs.
The company will also move its Australian HQ from Sydney to Adelaide.
“What we’re doing is bringing cheap, affordable, clean energy to South Australia,” Australian managing director Chris Parratt said on Thursday.
“Here in South Australia, we’re at the forefront of energy policy and renewable energy. Sonnen is a company that is also in this space.”
Sonnen’s lithium-ion phosphate batteries are guaranteed for 10,000 cycles, equal to about 27 years.
