A public Facebook group has sprung up following a surge in rock throwing incidents on the Southern Expressway.
The public group page — Southern Expressway Action Group — has collected nearly 1,000 members in two days.
Admin Beau Cowan said:
“I have created this group to help combat the worsening situation of rock throwing on the Southern Expressway.
“As a community we can improve the safety of Expressway users by sharing important information quickly.”
According to the group’s description, the page is:
“A community group to help combat the increasing number of rock throwing incidents happening on the Southern Expressway. A place to share and spread information that will make traveling the expressway safer.”
The latest development comes after police revealed they were investigating the 35th incident of the year so far.
