A $20 million plan to breath life back into Glenelg’s Jetty Rd has received council approval, but will need external funding to go ahead.
Holdfast Bay deputy mayor Amanda Wilson has told The Advertiser:
“There’s hardly any people walking down Jetty Rd at the moment and it appears to me that it’s dying quickly.”
37 parking spaces would be removed under the plan to allow for wider footpaths and increased outdoor dining along the strip, which would be turned into a pedestrian-friendly plaza, including shelters, benches, art, trees and a lawn.
