Jane Reilly has channelled her inner Picasso and produced an artwork she’s hoping will attract big dollars when it goes on sale in the Variety Art Auction.
Here’s how it turned out:
Brilliant, Jane!
Here’s what she had to say about her creation:
“I wanted to great a Joyful picture capturing my two great passions..the weather and children.
The painting of the little girl holding a bright red umbrella is about the innocence of childhood.
The joy of splashing and jumping in puddles.
As we grow up we forget how wonderful it is to feel the rain on your face.
I hope my picture encourages all who see it to be childlike and to re explore the natural world.
What a wonderful experience it was to take part in the Variety Art Auction.
I arrived armed with an idea but absolutely no skill.
Standing in front of the giant blank canvas was daunting.
But under the guidance of Chris Orchard, Trish and the other real artists it was heaps of fun.
Thank you for supporting Variety and the Special Children of South Australia.”
