A computer scientist and self-described “Bible student” claims 2016 will be the year of Jesus’ second coming, and life as we know it will end.
“Will Jesus come in 2016? The Bible presents enlightening, logical, and compelling answers to these questions. In short, yes!” conspiracy theorist Nora Roth writes on her website.
Perhaps even more surprising — the prediction has convinced plenty of people.
Nora’s theory has been reported across the web, including by the Daily Mail where it was shared 52,000 times.
The computer programmer has done some heavy calculations based on the “70 ‘sevens’ prophecy” from the book of Daniel…
And the upshot, according to Nora, is that the second coming of Jesus will take place before the end of the month.
Nora writes:
“In the fall of 2016 the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again to take His people to heaven.
“Then the earth will begin its 1,000 years of rest.
“God gives each of us a period of time on earth as probation… My probation and your probation will end sometime between now and the fall of 2016 and it may well be sooner rather than later.”
A UFO investigator told the Mail he wasn’t taking the warning seriously…
“Obscure numbers and codes are loved by fearmongers, and by using them to predict the end of the world, they show they have an insight into the mind of God and/or the workings of the Universe,” Nigel Watson said.
“Using knowledge of past predictions, and the fact we are still here, I predict we shouldn’t worry about this latest revelation.”
Hopefully it’ll blow over then.
