Adelaide icon Anne Wills has put the decline of her media career down to “ageism”.
During an episode of his ‘Conversations with Cornesy’ program, Graham Cornes told Willsy he always heard people asking why she wasn’t in the media anymore.
“Don’t worry guys, I say the same thing. I do,” she said.
“It’s ageism isn’t it, alive and living in Adelaide.
“I know we’re not supposed to have it, but still…
“Actually I don’t really mind — I had a fabulous career. I’ve been so lucky. I’m 73 in four months time — and it doesn’t sound bad until you actually say it aloud. On paper it looks ok.”
