A playlist of the most uplifting songs ever recorded, according to a Dutch neuroscientist, is being shared widely online.

The list, which was developed by Dr Jacob Jolij according to his ‘Feel Good Song Formula’, first appeared in 2015 but has resurfaced again thanks to a feature on inc.com.

According to Dr Jolij, the secret formula -- which you can see here -- reveals:

“We generally like songs with a tempo that deviates from the average pop song tempo, that are in a major key, and are a bit more complex than 3 chord songs, UNLESS the song is in a major key.”

Using the formula, the top 10 ‘feel good’ songs in order are:

1. "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen

2. "Dancing Queen" by Abba

3. "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys

4. "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel

5. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor

6. "I'm a Believer" by the Monkees

7. "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper

8. "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi

9. "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor

10. "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves
