Legendary Broadcaster Tony Pilkington hangs up his headphones for the last time on FIVEaa. Pilko took the time to thanks some special people from his long career in radio and finaally thanking his loyal listeners.
Pilko!!!! You ROCK I won't call you legend as you said that means OLD and I refuse to accept that. You have been a part of my life from the time you had hair and my hair was brown, not grey. Every happiness to you and your family. ♥ Maz/Marea

Yeah Pilko,we`ll give ya 3-4 years in Sydney and when the traffic,politics,crime,overcrowded shops,dysfunctional Sydneyites and sheer snobberry wears you out we`ll be waiting for your return with open arms mate.Goodluck,best wishes,have a great retirement,i do`nt think you really understand how much you will be missed by all in this ol` backwater. Just took in the "Final Farewell" (Laws back at 75) , on 9 News . & Yes . NO TEARS . Has getting up at 0400 got anything to do with it ? . Now the Guessing game begins …......... WHEN ? . I remember listening to you with my (dearly departed) Dad, many moons ago. I didn't understand the jokes but I laughed just the same and I treasure those times with Dad,( and you!) Now I find myself in hysterics on the way to work, laughing like a hyeena, but I couldn't care less who sees me being a dick. You are a wonderful person who has brought joy to many people, for many generations..... THANK YOU PILKO!
Tony, it has been a wonderful experience listening since I was a young bloke. I'm 54 at the moment. You, Bazz and Peter Plus, thankyou. I wont say legend as that means we're old. Again thanks mate

I am so sad to see you go Pilko - I have no words to say how much I think of you - such a lovely man with a beautiful nature, witty, funny and perfect in every way. My radio next to my pillow never gets switched off - the many nights when I would wake around 3am and then think "only 3 more hours" to hear your lovely voice and excellent program. I wish your replacement well in his new job however 5AA just wont be the same without Pilko - you are a lovely, lovely person - hope to run into you in Sydney sometime - I'd love to have a drink with you! - Helen
I listen to breakfast show every morning driving to work. Have thoroughly enjoy it. Congrats to Mr Pilkington and all the best in whatever good fortune that comes your way. Will miss your voice in the morning on the breakfast show going forward.
