Residents in Lennox Head on the far north coast of New South Wales are starting to count the cost of a tornado that left a trail of destruction through the town this morning. Witnesses described the waterspout crossing the coast and hitting the town about 7:30am (AEST). Roofs were lifted off houses, caravans and motor homes were sandwiched on top of each other and trees uprooted. About a dozen homes were severely damaged, while boats were tossed from their moorings.
