Jasper Pittard, Port Adelaide | FIVEaa

Port Adelaide defender and unrestricted free agent Jasper Pittard tells FIVEaa he doesn’t want to go anywhere.

“I definitely want to stay,” Jasper told Rowey and Bicks on Wednesday, but the deal isn’t sealed yet.

LISTEN HERE:

“At this stage with the CBA negotiations, there’s no real need to talk about it because until that gets done most players aren’t going to want to finalise their contracts,” Jasper said.

“Whenever the time comes will come, but it’s sort of on the backburners for most players until those CBA negotiations with the AFL get done.”

Pittard spoke about his excitement at returning to the team from injury last week:

“I didn’t feel like I was out of touch too much, a little bit rusty with a few of my skills.

“It would’ve been nice if we could’ve capped off a good game with a good last quarter.”

On the eve of his 100th game, he also spoke about overcoming his detractors:

“It helps when you’ve got teammates and coaches who back you in.

“It’s probably the type of person I am. I don’t get too fazed by mistakes -- it’s a part of life whether it’s on the footy field or outside of footy…

“For some reason I’ve always had the confidence to go for it again even if I have mucked it up previously.”
