Adelaide Crows CEO Andrew Fagan told the AFL Adelaide Oval was available to host the AFLW grand final if need be.

“We certainly made them aware that the grass at our venue following the Adele concert was in pristine condition and ready to go,” Fagan told Rowey and Bicks on FIVEaa.

On Monday it was announced the GF would be held at Metricon stadium on the Gold Coast after it was decided the Gabba surface was not up to scratch...

“In terms of the integrity of the competition, the Brisbane Lions earned the right to play the grand final in Queensland, so they absolutely deserve to have it played up there,” Fagan said.

“We’re ok with it, but I just wanted to let them know that it was there in case [Gill McLachlan] got stuck for a venue.

“It’s disappointing, I think, for the game that the game’s not payed at Brisbane’s premier footy venue, so it’s probably more of an issue for the Brisbane girls than it is for ours.

“We’re jumping on a plane on Thursday, we’re flying to Queensland and we’re playing a game and it’s at Metricon, so be it.

“We’ll be fine. Hopefully just from the game’s sake they get a good crowd out there.

“I think the general view is that we’re ready to play wherever we need to.”
