There's fury over state government plans to buy prisoners new flat screen High Definition digital TVs

The government has placed an ad, calling for tenders for 15-hundred new tellies for cells in the states prisons

The cost to taxpayers is a million dollars and Prisons Minister Tom Koutsantonis says the TV's are there to stay

But Shadow Minister Terry Stephens says prisoners should buy their own tv .

5aaa, I was in RAH in 1999 and had to pay for ordinary TV! But, it is a tax-payer funded facility.
