Adelaide Fringe is an annual open-access arts festival that runs from February through till March for 24 nights. The Adelaide Fringe literally takes over the city of churches with over 800 events entertaining the public. Pop-up venues in parks, warehouses, laneways and empty buildings, as well as theatres, hotels, art galleries, cafes and town halls help stage this exciting event. The Adelaide Fringe is unlike any other of its kind in the world, as it not only provides ticket open access events but also entertains the public through the Fringe supported and/or produced special free events. These run throughout the whole festival and create the carnival atmosphere that engulfs the entire city over the three months. This Festival has something for EVERYONE!

As the sun goes down, the streets will light up as we celebrate the opening of Adelaide Fringe 2012. A spectacular cavalcade of vehicles and floats carrying thousands of Fringe artists will parade down the centre of the city to an explosive soundscape of mixed beats by Adelaide’s own DJ TR!P. See King William Street as you’ve never seen it before as the buildings on the western side of the street become an enormous illuminated backdrop to the passing procession.

Following the fun of the Parade we invite you to journey out across the city to discover all of the fabulous Fringe venues which are throwing open their doors for the biggest party in town. Each Fringe venue is unique in its own wonderfully special way, many have created sensational pop-up bars and all feature exciting Fringe shows.
