The pipeline from the Murray River to Port Lincoln has been cut after a truck collision overnight.

Just before 1am, a car carrier with two vehicles on board slammed into the pipe, after veering off the Lincoln Highway about 10 kms south of Tumby Bay.

The 42 year old driver wasn't injured.

The truck will be removed from the scene later this morning and SAWater will assess the damage to the water pipe.
