Labor MP's have criticised the ABC over its plans for a comedy series lampooning the Prime Minister and her partner.

The producers of "At Home With Julia" claim it answers the big questions, like who puts the bins out, who walks the dog and who sends the troops to Afghanistan.

Labor MP Michael Danby says the program is ugly and disrespectful.
