Socceroos star Harry Kewell looks set to remain with Galatasaray until at least the end of the season, after the Turkish club opted to cut a Congolese player instead.

Speculation was mounting the club could look to offload the 31-year-old Australian after a spending spree saw them surpass the allowed quota of foreign players.

Kewell is in Sydney seeking medical advice on a groin injury.
