An earthquake has rattled homes in South Australia's mid-north this morning

Geoscience Australia says the quake measured 4 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was about 80 kilometres northeast of Port Pirie.

But the tremor was strongest in Jamestown and Peterborough

There've been no reports of damage, but several aftershocks are expected through the morning.
