The latest opinion poll has Kevin Rudd streaking away from Julia Gillard as preferred Labor leader.

The Galaxy Poll shows 52% of voters would prefer Mr Rudd led the ALP rather than Ms Gillard.

It's bad news for the Prime Minister, coming after the controversial resignation of a staff member over violent protests on Australia Day.

It also follows Ms Gillard's back-down on Poker machines, and her decision to introduce a Carbon tax.

No. Julia Gillards main problem is Julia Gillard.
She has lost all credibility & done more damage to Australia,s image & Womens professional image than thought possible in such a short time.
And now the polls show Kevin Rudd is preferred Prime Minister. What is wrong with the Australian voting public? Surely they don,t want more of Rudd. Have they forgotten so soon how bad he was. He is not capable of doing the job. Neither was Gillard. Give her another three months max.
