ALL-AUSTRALIAN defender Nathan Bock has played his last game for Adelaide after telling the club he will join the Gold Coast Suns.

The 27-year-old met with the Crows on Monday and told them he had been offered a contract from the new franchise that was hard to refuse.

While the deal is not yet finalised, Bock’s manager Ricky Olarenshaw said on Tuesday that club and player had agreed to part ways with two games remaining.

"We weren’t going to make a decision until after the season, but once the Crows were out of the finals race there had been speculation he was going to the Gold Coast so he had a deep and meaningful with the club yesterday.

“He said he was most likely to take the offer and they were happy he was honest and said, ‘If you’re going to take up the offer, there’s probably no point in playing the last two games, give them to a young player’.

“He agreed to that and he’ll stand down today.”

Olarenshaw said Bock’s Gold Coast terms were not “official” yet but his client was looking forward to heading to the new club.

Bock will become the Suns' first high-profile signing.

Good riddance. The Gold Coast will be nothing more than a team made up of turncoats. They deserve you, Bocky.

Wow harsh words from I'm guessing crows fans? I can't imagine you had these feelings when he won the club championship or was dominating the game running out of half back!

He was a very good player although injuries have hurt him in the last few years. For $600k a season I cannnot blame him as he's nearing the end of his career.

Let's face it, the crows aren't going to win a flag in the next 3-4 years. With a young list which needs developing, if they do push for a flag in the next 5 years Bock wasn't going to be part of the push, so let him go and develop a younger player.

Thanks for the service Bocky, good luck with the move to the goldie, I hope you're injuries don't hamper the rest of the career and mate I don't blame you for making a tough call. Ultimately it's about settting yourself up like we all try and do through our professional careers. Your window is a lot smaller and you need to make hay while the sun shines.

All the best and thanks again for the service.
