Premier Mike Rann has signed a pledge to honour his election commitments in the lead up to the State Election on March 20.

Leon Byner presented Mr Rann with the same pledge that Liberal Leader Isobel Redmond signed last week.

The Premier says he's more than happy to put pen to paper.

How come there was no way MM was going to sign a pledge last week. Apparently it's only done when you're in opposition. Perhaps all the negative publicity in the Sunday Mail might of influenced his decision to put pen to paper!

Mike rann on Leon's show?
Hell must have frozen over!

Leon treated him with kid gloves, (as expected).
As for his pledge, that's as meaninless as his word. Didn't he have to swear some sort of oath when he was appointed as Premier........for what that was worth.

by Paralytic (01/03/2010)

What a load of crap. This is not worth the paper its written on. Leon you lose a bit of credibility following on with this , you should have just looked into it and left it alone. I thought the same when whats her name signed it. Just a stunt..she should just stick to being tazered.

Mike Rann's personal vendetta with his 'Bikies' Policy is an absolute disgrace and abuse of power. The tracking of 'Motorcyclist's' going for a ride, using Helicopters, Police Cars, Bikes, and personnel was a total WASTE, of tax-payers funds. His continuation with this fruitless action in the Courts is appalling. I believe most South Australians see the proposed Law for exactly what it is, Unconstitutional.
Messrs Rann and Foley, it is time to go !!!

It's long PAST time to go. The priorities of this so-called govt are all up a creek and designed to make "Yogi Bear On Mogadon" (from Blakey) look like Mr Popular, but the public must surely see through this by now?

You can be the most popular leader in australia, which mike rann was, and sooner or later all the dirt thrown by the opposition and its supporters starts to stick. Pollies are like socks they get smellie and you ned to change them. Mike Rann will be judged by history not some lib loving people on some radio staion forum . He will be looked back upon as giving us a more than a lot of you people think. When the drought hits again and the desal plant is pumping fresh clean water think of him. When you are sitting at a brand new footy stadium cheering thecrows think of him. When you go to a state of the art hospital to visit your sick loved ones think of him. When the drought hits again we will be asking why we're paying so much for our water and why we're having so many power cuts and why those living north of the city are paying more but getting nothing for it.

When you're sitting in a brand new footy stadium getting soaked to the skin and frozen to the bone from the cutting wind thinking about the hassle you're going to have finding and getting to your car you can ponder over what might have been had the job been done properly.

When you go to visit your sick relatives at the state of the art new hospital you'll no doubt wonder why they still had to wait 8hrs to be seen by a doctor, why they are now laying on a sun-lounge rather than a proper bed, why people are still complaining that there are no beds for elective surgery patients and why there is still a shortage of nurses. Oh yeah....where have all the mental health patients gone....cured? I don't think so!

Answer is simple WIIS, we need all the bludgers who do not pay for private health cover to get off their bums and pay and not rely on people like me and my wife who work hard and have never had any child support or any other government hand out to pay high taxes to support them. If you do not have private health cover you can wait until you die for all I care because you should not rely on those who work to support those bludgers who put that forty dollars a week to booze and smokes instead of health. The whole health system will fail whilst these bludgers expect workers like me to pay for them when they get fat due to their bludging lifestyles.

Oh & the other things Ranndy has given us, no new prison, no new centre for wayward youth, the sale of Hillcrest hospital, Multifunction polis & let's not forget his role in the state bank disasterm, my grand kids will still be affected by that one

Extremely angry with the direction our once
Great state has been pushed to ,Iv also known
Of a lot of anger in the community ,from farmers
Who have been screwed over and left to die
With no water, fishermen who will have there
Lively hoods stolen, timber workers loosing there
Jobs so the government can pay public servants
Wages, pensioners being lied to & loosing there
Federal government bonus,blue color factory
Workers being slugged the heighest stamp duty
Fees in Australia.Small business closing /scaling
Back due to heigh tax,
Billions billions of GST cash but were broke ! were has it all gorn?
Arnt we in a boom, yet our domestic product has fallen 50% since Ranns /Labor came to office
God I'm not making non of this up & there's so
So much more ,wether it's no ICAC,dodgy deals
Or over blown public servants from NRMA thinking
There god ,etc etc.But my intresting observation is Every one i speek to ,in the street, pub, work, school, shops Every one is well & truly peeed of with Rann/Labor & knows were not being told the truth ,every one that is except a handfull on this forum,Who suprise suprise

Of course I do not and have posted so at least 10 times. That is why I support the PSA's stand on it. It is an across the board reduction to ALL public servants not just the fire fighters. Labor are attempting to change conditions of employment through legislative changes to deny all public servants their leave loading and reduce long service leave from 15 days a year to 9 days a year for all employees with greater than 15 years services. This in itself may not seem wrong to those who paint all these workers as bludgers but what is wrong is he agreed to no changes during EB negotiations last year. The fire fighters are part of rolling meetings that will indeed include all of Australia as the impact should this be allowed will changed the foundation of all EB agreements. The PSA have been granted leave to take the issue to the high court so Labors response will be interesting over the next few months. I would not be surprised if such actions such as clerical staff refusing to process payments may be introduced. This may cause quite an impact on the government and the public and I feel Labor have underestimated the anger within a hard working public service.
And Cob and Rob please do not send back arguments about fat cats (non public servant appointments) and taxes.

I agree in the main but there will always be those who genuinely cannot afford private health insurance. Tony Abbott's latest proposal to get people off the dole would take care of a large proportion of bludgers!

Yes Cob he has the "perfect" track record on financial matters, When Jennifer Cashmore MP raised concerns about the State Bank in parliament on 13/04/89 he got up on his hind legs in parliament & sneeringly stated "The member for Coles is out of her depth on economic matters".

He is like the other socialist leaders over recent years and knows damn well that our prime minister past and present has agreed to enter this country into global government through the G20 with the BanCor digital currency once the world economy has collapsed soon in the near future, has anyone been awake and are watching the deliberate oversupply of US dollars in the global currency market. This is why they are spending like drunkards, collapse can only mean balance sheets are rebalanced through brand new currency consolidation globally and global tax called a Carbon Taxing System. This leader is just a puppet like the rest or recent ones. Just don't believe this state leader on anything he says, just watch the spending madness continue!
