Lleyton Hewitt's run at the Australian Open has come to an end beaten in 4 sets by top seed Novak Djokovic.

It was looking ugly for the South Aussie when he trailed 2 sets to love and 3 nil but he found his legendary fighting spirit to steal the 3rd before going down 6-3 in the 4th.

And an exhausted Hewitt says Djokovic was almost unplayable for much of the game.

"He was playing exceptional tennis, i was still able to find a way to get back in the match and at least put some pressure on him. His moving, his ball striking and his serving was fantastic for 2 and a half sets."
