The Coalition says it's not worried by a new opinion poll showing former Labor leader Kevin Rudd could win an election.

The Nielsen survey shows 52% of voters would re-elect Labor if Mr Rudd is returned to the top job.

But under the current leadership of Julia Gillard the party faces annihilation at the next election.

Senior frontbencher Joe Hockey says it doesn't matter who's running Labor, the party is a joke.
