Barry Morgan’s World of Organs – Cupola, Garden of Unearthly Delights

“World famous in Australia” Barry Morgan the organ salesman is a fabulous advertisement for his instrument, the Hammond Aurora Classic. She sits proudly on stage and is the star of this show as Barry’s bejeweled fingers nimbly reveal her every feature. It’s a funny and affectionate parody which rivals Bob Downe’s most dazzling smile (and his beige polyester wardrobe) and the luxuriant locks and moustache of a 70s porn star. But Barry’s late mum Nancy would be proud of her lovely boy – there’s not a rude word in the show. Just a lot of showmanship, musicianship and towards the end of the show, a little pathos to remind us that even Barry, the ever smiling salesman, needs some reward for his effort.
