The mood out at Elizabeth Holden is sombre this morning as temporary and casual staff prepare to be told they no longer have a job.
Full time staff are worried this is just the tip of the iceburg with up to 200 temporary and casual staff to go and the car maker slashing production to just 400 vehicles a day.
At this stage no full time or permanent jobs are targetted.
Holden boss Mike Deveroux is in town to addess the workers, he's blaming a drop in exports.
"It's driven by a high Aussie dollar, it means we won't be able to increase capacity as we were planning to in 2012. That means those temporary and casual workers will most certainly lose thier jobs."
