Adrienne loves this recipe for the wonderful syrupy result.

Ingredients

500-750gms, Steak, e.g., Blade,round, topside

1 large onion, chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed

1 large apple chopped

1 chopped banana

1 small tin Tropical Fruit Salad (the traditional one)

½ cup each of Raisins, Mushrooms, Carrots, Celery, Green Pepper, Tomato, Chopped finely

½ cup Raw Sugar

2 tablespoons Soy Sauce

1 good dollop of tomato paste

1 Beef Stock Cube

Curry to Taste………such as Patak’s Madras Curry Paste…..a good dessertspoon

A good tablespoon of tomato chutney

Salt and Pepper

Brown off the onion, steak and garlic, then add Curry Paste, and stir over heat for a while, then put the lot in your crock pot.

If it seems a bit dry, add a splash of boiling water.

Turn it on high, and cook for a long time, usually 12 hours, to get the fruits nice and syrupy.

At the end, add a can of coconut cream.  If it is a bit watery, stir a couple of teaspoons of cornflour which you have mixed to a paste into the curry.

Serve with Basmati Rice.
