The town of St George in Queensland is now on its own, after floodwaters submerged the only road out late last night.
Residents in the area fled ahead of an expected 15 metre flood peak, 1.5 metres higher than the previous record, expected later today.
In Roma and the body of mother Jane Sheahan has been recovered after she was swept away by flood water on Friday. She was trying to save her 7 year old son, he was eventually rescued by on lookers.
Meantime floodwaters continue to isolate more than 3000 people across NSW . The town of Wee Waa is the worst affected with the town expected to be cut off for up to 5 days.
But the biggest concern now is the massive volume of floodwater moving south from Queensland.
