We're looking at a new record with this hot weather we're experiencing. It'll be the first official heatwave in Adelaide for November. It'll be 37 today and tomorrow and 39 for Wednesday and Thursday.
We're being urged to check our air-conditioners are working properly, as we head into the heatwave.
We're also being advised to keep up our fluids and stay out of the sun.
Professor Paddy Phillips from SA Health says there are several symptoms of heat exhausion to look out for. These include dizziness, faintness feeling sick with nasea and vomitting. More serious symptoms are Head aches, reduced urine output, stopping sweating and blacking out.

FIRE

There's been another fire in Adelaide sparked by a faulty air conditioner, the third in as many days.
The latest blaze broke out in Wynn Vale last night with fire crews called to a Cox St property.
They took 10 minutes to bring the flames under control, no-one was injured.

SHARK MAN

A shark attack victim has had surgery on his leg overnight and remains in the Flinders Medical Centre.
24 year old Dean Brougham was attacked at Wirrina Cove yesterday morning while swimming with a spear fishing group.
He managed to punch the shark in the head and make his way ashore, where he was treated by a sea rescue crew and paramedics before being airlifted to hospital.
Doctors say Mr Brougham had serious bite wounds to his leg and hand and was lucky not to have lost more blood.

FOOD PRICES

Australian families are paying the fastest-rising grocery prices in the developed world, according to new figures from the OECD.
They show the cost of feeding a family has jumped more than 40-percent in the past decade.
Supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths are being blamed for the sharp rise.

NEWSPOLL

The latest Newspoll says more than half the population think the Prime Minister is doing a bad job on addressing the issue of asylum seekers and his approval rating continues to drop.
The poll, in The Australian today, shows 53 per cent think Mr Rudd is doing poorly on managing asylum seekers, compared to 31 per cent who think he's handling the issue well.
But voters are just as unimpressed with the coalition, with only 22 per cent saying it could handle the situation better if it was in government.

US HEALTH

There's been a major political victory for US President Barack Obama. The US House of Representatives has narrowly voted in favour of his trillion dollar health care reform package, to extend health care cover to 36 million Americans who can't afford it.
