LIBERAL LEADERSHIP
Malcolm Turnbull's critics are calling on him to stand down as Liberal Leader, and save the party another day of heartache. After a weekend of tension in the Liberal party,Joe Hockey could announce today he'll run for the party leadership. Victorian Senator Mitch Fifield, one of the dozen frontbenchers who had quit in protest, says it's time for Mr Turnbull to go.
The latest opinion poll has more bad news for Malcolm Turnbull - with Joe Hockey well in front as preferred coalition leader.
Meantime - the Senate is set to delay a vote on the Rudd governments Emissons Trading Legislation.
Although the Upper House resumes sittings today, there are suggestions a vote won't be held until after tomorrow's Liberal Leadership vote. John Connor from the Climate Institute who supports an ETS, says that would be a disaster for Australia.
