Southern suburbs residents are invited to have their say on the vegetation buffer between Victor Harbor Road and the Seaford Heights development.
Consulation runs until February 27 with plans to be displayed at the McLaren Vale visitor centre and at local libraries.
There were concerns the housing development would ruin the atmposphere of the grape-growing region.
But the Land Management Corporation's Wayne Gibbings says the buffer will be effective.
"The buffer zone has been designed so that you will not see the development from Victor harbor Rd, so I think it's meeting all the requirements for the concerns that were raised by the community so we think it'll do a good job."
