Cat owners will be in the spotlight under a state government crackdown.
They'll have to micro-chip their pets, pay compulsory registration fees and stop them from wandering the streets.
The Dog and Cat Management Board has come up with the proposals to stop cats killing wildlife and causing a nuisance in the suburbs.
The goverment will release a draft bill later this year for public debate before any changes are made.
