The State Government says police already have the power to deal with violence on the sports field
Family First MP Rob Brokenshire will introduce legislation cracking down on on-field biffos in the wake of a massive brawl at a soccer match in North Adelaide yesterday
50 people were involved in the melee, six were injured, two needing hospital treatment
Sports Minister Tom Kenyon says people need to keep their emotions off the field.
"We'll have a look at Rob's legislation but at the moment I can't see what the problem is. In terms of the law, the law is working well, police have all the power they need to investigate and they are in this case. If you step outside the rules of the game you can be prosecuted for it."
