A bus driver has been bashed during a violent robbery at Salisbury East.

Two men threw a cake towards the open window of the bus as he was driving along Gloucester Ave at about 4pm yesterday.

When he stopped to confront the men he was assaulted and knocked to the ground.

The two men aged in their mid twenties then stole his mobile phone before running off.
