Bob Francis has heart surgery

FIVEaa's Radio Legend Bob Francis is recovering in hospital this morning following surgery to remove blockages from arteries surrounding his heart.

Big Bad Bob was admitted at 4:30am on Thursday morning following continual chest pains through out the night. Doctors monitored his condition through out Thursday and decided to perform an Angiogram early Friday morning.

Doctors found three blackages and inserted stents to relieve the pressure on Big Bob's ticker.

Bob is in good spirits after the surgery and will be out of hospital over the weekend.

Amazingly Bob is planning to be back on-air Monday Night so be listening from 8pm for his triumphant return.

He should stay at home and rest. He would be silly to go back to work so early after heart surgery.

Don't come back unless you are totally recovered Bob - so many people care about you and would sooner you take a little more time and not overdo it in the early stages. Give your body time to adjust to the new condition of the arteries and we will be pleased to hear you back again soon.

Oh Bob, I feel guilty now after our on air discussion where I strongly suggested you see your Cardiologist re the symptoms. On the other hand, I'm glad that you did, since you will be back to your good self. Wish you well Bob!
