Aussie TV king Bert Newton has heart surgery

Aussie TV king Bert Newton has been forced to undergo heart surgery in Singapore.

Newton, who is currently in Singapore performing in Wicked, is believed to have experienced heart complications arising from a virus he contracted.

The four-time Gold Logie winner is best known for hosting Aussie TV favourites like In Melbourne Tonight, Good Morning Australia and 20 to 1.

Last June the Aussie icon suffered from pneumonia.

Newton's wife Patti is currently filming Celebrity Apprentice.
