Attorney-General Michael Atkinson admits he's humiliated and embarrassed over plans to backdown on new laws censoring internet comment on the state election.

Under the laws, internet bloggers and anyone making a comment on the state election next month, even on facebook, would have had to publish their real name and postcode.

Mr Atkinson says South Australians have spoken, he's listened and the legislation will be abolished.

The law was originally passed with the support of the opposition.

But the liberals' Vickie Chapman says they were given certain assurances by the Electoral Commission.

And she's told Keith and Pilko, they're not happy with the way the issue's been handled.
