Andrew Lovett Not Guilty of Rape

Former AFL footballer Andrew Lovett has been found not guilty of rape.

Lovett cried when the jury handed down its verdict after deliberating since last Thursday.

It was alleged he raped a drunk and sleeping woman at the Port Melbourne apartment of St Kilda teammate Jason Gram on Christmas Eve in 2009.

Lovett claimed the sex was consensual.
