A man is recovering in hospital after being bashed at Glengowrie overnight.
Just after midnight, the 23-year-old was walking along Diagonal Road, when a car with three men inside stopped near him.
Two of the men, one armed with a hammer, the other a screwdriver, demanded the victim's belongings and when he said he didn't have anything, he was hit with the hammer and kicked to the ground.
The victim tried to run away and was then chased by the third suspect in the car. At one stage, the vehicle mounted the footpath and hit the man before he was able to escape.
The three suspects are described as Caucasion, about 160-165 centimetres, wearing hooded tops and travelling in a dark coloured possibly maroon Nissan.
