The Rudd government and Opposition have been slammed for blocking an inquiry into the Church of Scientology.

Both major parties will not support a parliamentary investigation into claims of abuse and forced abortions in the controversial church.

The inquiry was also meant to look into the tax-free status of religious organisations.

Independent Senator Nick Xenophon says he'll keep pushing for an investigation into Scientology.

Do you think there should be an inquiry ito the Church of Scientogy in Australia?

I've just managed to vote 3 times - it makes a mockery of the poll. That said, I'd like to know the reason/s why the inquiry was blocked. Have the Scientologists reached so far into our society that they can hold sway over our government??

That is strange. With all other polls there has never been a *vote again*

I have voted once.
I agree with Jaydee. A poll is useless if a person can just keep on voting.

The "vote again" option has been a feature for a while now. I think it's a bad move too. Jason, what can you do about this?

On the subject of Scientology, they're nothing more than a weird dangerous cult posing as a religion, latching on to celebrities to 'justify' their existence. These celebrities are too stupid to see they're being used and more than likely being fleeced of a lot of their fortunes in the process. I mean, take a look at Tom Cruise in the above photo. Do you need further proof this is nothing more than a 'wacko' organisation?

Yes Burnsie, can you please get rid of the vote again link as it will destroy the credibility of these polls...

Why shouldn't they be investigated? If they have nothing to hide they should welcome an investigation. I want my tax money going to REAL charities.

If they have nothing to hide, they should welcome an inquiry. What are they hiding? What are they so ashamed of?

Believe anything you want. Just don't break our laws please.
